JAKARTA - Ukraine shot down five Russian-launched military drones in last night's attack. Russian troops are also reportedly using three Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
As reported by Reuters on Friday, August 16, Russia used three Shahed drones and two unknown types of drones for the attack.
Reuters previously reported Russia was switching to using low-cost drones in several of its attacks on Ukraine to try to identify air defenses and act as bait.
Regional governors Kyiv and Kirovohrad reported no damage or casualties after the attack.
Air defenses work in the capital Kyiv overnight without any damage reported by city authorities.
