Surakarta Police Asks PSIS Semarang Supporters Not To Attend Solo Manahan Stadium

Ahead of the Central Java derby match between Persis Solo versus PSIS Semarang, the Surakarta Police will block the border area against PSIS Semarang supporters who are desperate to watch the match at the Manahan Stadium in Solo, on Saturday night, August 17.

In a statement received on Friday, August 16, the Surakarta Police Chief, Kombes Iwan Saktiadi, said that the Surakarta Police were still guided by existing regulations, namely that the visitors were not allowed to watch.

"So far, we are guided by PSSI regulations or regulations regarding League 1 that the rules have not changed, they are still being held without a guest supporters," said Kombes Iwan.

"We hope that the PSIS Semarang team can appeal to their supporters to support them from their respective places and not to attend the Solo Manahan Stadium," he said.

"We ask for support from supporters to comply with the provisions set by FIFA to PSSI so that we can be trusted again to hold matches attended by supporters of the two competing teams," he explained.

"In addition, we will also carry out sterilization at the entrance to the city of Solo to prevent the presence of PSIS Semarang supporters," he said.

Responding to the steps taken by the Surakarta Police ahead of the Central Java derby between Persis Solo and PSIS Semarang, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol Artanto, stated that this policy was taken to maintain the safety and comfort of all parties involved.

"We understand how important this match is for both parties, both for Persis Solo and PSIS Semarang. However, we ask all supporters to understand and respect this decision, because this is done for the common good," said Kombes Pol Artanto.
