Prabowo Blusukan Checks Floating Houses For Rob Affected Residents In Muara Angke

Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto directly checked a number of floating houses which are a Defense University grant for 200 families who were previously often affected by tidal flooding in Muara Angke, Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

During his visit to the floating house area of Muara Angke, Prabowo met the recipients of the floating house, and asked about their condition after living in the house.

Inside one of the residents' houses he checked, Prabowo saw that the floating house donated by the Defense University was built complete with clean water sources, bedrooms, power sources from solar power, toilets, and some furniture like cupboards.

Reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 14, as many as 200 floating houses that are currently the residences of Muara Angke residents in RT006/007 RW 022 in Pluit Village are part of the floating house area built by the Defense University with several partners, including PT PAL, since at least early 2024. The area, which was previously often affected by tidal flooding, is also equipped with a floating field, called the State Defense Field.

The field is currently being used by residents for children's playgrounds, community gathering places, and sports facilities such as gymnastics, futsal, volleyball, and badminton.

During his visit to the floating house area today, Prabowo also played futsal with local children. He then distributed school bags to the children in the floating housing complex.

He also advised the children to study hard. "Learn well," Prabowo told them.

"Thank you Pak Prabowo," said the children compactly after receiving a school bag from the Indonesian Defense Minister who is also the President-elected.

The same gratitude was also conveyed by residents who welcomed Prabowo's arrival. Some of them tried to get closer to Prabowo and asked for a selfie. Prabowo, who was closely guarded by aides, personal secretaries, and a number of his personal bodyguards, also served the residents' request to take a photo together.

Prabowo visited the floating house complex in Muara Angke using a motorized rubber boat, accompanied by Jonny Mahroza, retired TNI who served as Rector of the Defense University from August 2023 to July 2024.

The floating house in Muara Angke, which is part of the Defense University community service program, is a follow-up to Prabowo's idea to help people in northern Jakarta live decently and be able to adapt to local areas that are often affected by tidal flooding.
