The Governor of West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Mahyeldi asked for a policy that prohibits Paskibraka members from wearing the headscarf while carrying out their duties at the commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) to be repealed. "We ask that this policy be revoked and the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) as the person in charge of Paskibraka explains the confusion of the veiled prohibition information, whether it is true or hoax," he said in Padang, Wednesday. Mahhyeldi said, if BPIP does enforce such a policy or rule, then it is very regrettable, because it is the same as not respecting human rights and has insulted the constitution. Because, he assessed that in Article 29 paragraph 1 and 2 of the 1945 Constitution it is clear that (1) the state is based on the Almighty Godhead and (2) the state guarantees the independence of each resident to embrace their respective religions and to embrace according to their religion and belief. "For Muslim women wearing the headscarf is worship. Therefore, if anyone prohibits women from wearing the headscarf in this country, then it means that they have no respect for the constitution. Moreover, those who prohibit Muslim women in Indonesia using the headscarf have insulted religious teachings," he said. According to him, if the policy continues, then it means that it is a setback in the life of the nation and state and has caused unrest in the community.

We believe and believe that Mr. President Joko Widodo and the President (Selected) Mr. Prabowo Subianto will agree that there is no prohibition in the use of the headscarf for Paskibraka Putri members who will serve later on August 17, 2024, both at the State Capital Palace, Province, and Regency/City throughout Indonesia," said Andree. Andree hopes that if the regulation is correct, then BPIP as the manager and person in charge of the Paskibraka program should immediately evaluate all policies and decisions that are contrary to the noble values of Pancasila.
