Officers Find 11 Kg Of Methamphetamine In Toyota Camry Luxury Car In Cengkareng, West Jakarta

JAKARTA - Joint officers from the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit and the Tanjung Priok Port Police succeeded in uncovering an international network of drug cases on Wednesday, August 14.

Joint officers confiscated 11 packages of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in green Chinese tea plastic weighing 11.3 kg which were stored by two perpetrators with the initials MU (23) and A (31).

West Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief AKBP Teuku Arsya Gaddafi said the evidence for methamphetamine came from abroad but was still in the Asean area.

The suspect with the initials MU acts as a recipient or 'horse' and A acts as a liaison or intermediary for the delivery of methamphetamine.

"We have also identified other actors who act as controllers, namely R, BU, and BR, who are currently still being pursued," said AKBP Arsya when confirmed, Wednesday, August 14.

This disclosure was carried out in two different locations. The suspect with the initials MU was arrested in front of a hotel in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta.

Then the police again arrested the suspect with the initials A in a boarding house in the Grogol Petamburan area. The police also found the rest of the methamphetamine used by A.

The disclosure of this methamphetamine began with public information about the upcoming methamphetamine transactions in Cengkareng and North Jakarta.

"We conducted surveillance and delivery control from ports in West Java to cars suspected of containing drugs arriving in West Jakarta," he said.

After the search, it was found that methamphetamine was stored in a black Toyota Camry B 8023 BF car door. The object was received by a suspect with the initials MU.

Then the car was searched and found methamphetamine in the body of the car door beside the left side of the car door with 3 packs of crystal methamphetamine. Then in front of the left body the door was 2 packs of crystal methamphetamine.

"The right side of the front door is 3 packs of methamphetamine, and 3 packs of methamphetamine in the right back door, so that a total of 11 blue plastic packages contain methamphetamine," he said.

From this disclosure, the total evidence that was secured included 11 packages of methamphetamine with a total weight of 11.355 grams, as well as a number of cellphones and a Toyota Camry car.

The joint team then expanded again to a boarding house in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta and arrested the suspect AN alias D. Confiscated with evidence of remaining methamphetamine from intermediaries and the remaining 2 packages of narcotics plastic and 1.50 grams.

From the results of the investigation, the narcotics evidence was sent first from the North Sumatra region to Jakarta.

The two suspects with the initials MU and A were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and Article 112 paragraph (2) junto Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
