JAKARTA - PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri teased the media crew about contemporary news production. According to Megawati, news written by the media cannot be accounted for, far from the journalistic code of ethics. Megawati said the writing should open her conscience, making humans honorable. Many writers are admired to date because their works are so memorable in human conscience. Unfortunately, that's not happening right now. "This release can make human conscience honorable or what? Betrayer! There are writers who are admired because their writing is humanitarian, but there are also provocateurs," said Megawati at the PDIP DPP, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 14. Megawati then mentioned the performance of journalists whose writings no longer present facts but are provocateurs and cannot be accounted for. "Don't use the journalistic code of ethics anymore! Do you understand? (Asking reporters) I just understand that it's so half-hearted. You don't have to come here looking for news that you still want it to be useless. Why make people only miserable, is this PDIP not part of the Indonesian people?" Megawati explained. Megawati did not specifically mention what cases or news had been made by journalists and violated the journalistic code of ethics. He also asked reporters to write down about the constitution. For example, at the position of the MPR which is no longer the highest institution. At the last PDIP Working Meeting, Megawati had asked her party to fight to make the MPR the highest institution. So that if there is a problem in the constitution, this MPR will speak up. "Now it's being contested, because of the DPD DPR MPR. Even though the DPR member is also the MPR, the DPD is like that too. Imagine even though this, it's like he (MPR) can't, so I have to raise him again," said Megawati. At the end of this statement, Megawati then asked journalists to write under the constitution, including alluding to the performance of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI).

"Try you (journalists) too, think about it, it's a constitutional matter. Make you first. Is there still a PWI name? What does it do? Come on, journalists can say whether it works PWI, Indonesian Journalists Association? It used to be very active, first, now," said Megawati.
