JAKARTA - A number of thugs and Mr. Ogah under the Cocacola Traffic Light (TL), Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, were ambushed by joint officers from the Pulogadung Satpol PP in the Tertib Praja Operation on Tuesday, August 13, evening.

In the Operation Bina Tertib Praja, some Satpol PP officers were forced to wear free clothes so that the reach of the PPKS ended optimally.

"We, from the Civil Service Police Unit, Pulogadung Subdistrict, carried out the reach of PPKS in our area. Then we found about 10 violators who we were involved in," said Plh Kasatpol PP Pulogadung District, Martua Manik to VOI at the location.

Joint officers targeted a number of points prone to the presence of thugs and Mr. Ogah in Pulogadung who often violate public order. The violators were arrested while carrying out their activities.

This time, the Tertib Praja operation was carried out by as many as 35 personnel from the joint Satpol PP officers from Pulogadung, TNI and Polri sub-districts as well as the East Jakarta Social Sub-dept.

Some of the officers wearing free clothes managed to catch the thugs and Mr. Ogah.

The arrest was quite dramatic and there was a chase between officers and street thugs. In fact, some thugs also had time to fight back when they were arrested.

However, one by one the thugs were arrested by officers who disguised themselves as civilians and used motorbikes. They were also put into the East Jakarta Social Sub-dept.

"Furthermore, they made a statement not to repeat their actions again. Then the PPKS violators of regional regulations we took them to the Cipayung Social Institution, East Jakarta," he said.

Martua Manik said that his party admitted that there were no obstacles in enforcing the Tibum Regional Regulation in the Operation Bina Tertib Praja.

"Actually, there is no difficulty, the important thing is to be consistent with us in the field. Hopefully the violators understand that they are violating," he said.

If repeated violations are found, the officers will take them to the Social Service to be given a light criminal sanction (Tipiring).

In accordance with Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order in Chapter II Article 7 it reads that any person or group of people who do not have the authority is prohibited from regulating traffic at crossroads, bends or turns of the road with the intention of getting a reward or service.

In Chapter VIII Article 40, continued Andik, regulating the provisions of every person or body is prohibited from becoming beggars, buskers, hawkers and car racers. Ordered other people to become beggars, buskers, hawkers, and car racers. Buy to hawkers or give money or goods to beggars, buskers and car drivers.

Meanwhile, Operation Bina Tertib Praja will be carried out until August 31 in Jakarta.
