Manggarai Fire Victim Regrets The Attitude Of The Home Owner Who Caused The Fire

JAKARTA - Eka Sulistiawati (36), one of the residents of Manggarai, a fire victim in South Jakarta, admitted that she was furious to hear the news about the cause of the fire due to a cellphone charger that was shorted in one of the residents' houses.

Especially when the fire started, they did not immediately notify local residents. Instead, extinguish it yourself.

"He said the fire was trying to be extinguished on his own, he didn't say anything. At 2 o'clock. I was really upset. Because the impact was all over," said Eka when met at the entrance yard of Manggarai Airport Station, South Jakarta, Tuesday, August 13.

Eka admitted that he learned that there was a fire after firefighters arrived at the scene. Suddenly Eka screamed panicked because the fire had grown near her house.

"I found out after there was a fire engine and there were shouts of fire. Residents said the owner of the house was padamin but it didn't work, and the fire was even big," he said.

Eka deeply regrets the attitude of her neighbor who chose to remain silent during the fire. Because according to Eka, if the owner of the house screams for help, not many houses will be burned.

"Let's be helped. This is just a fire. So like this, is he responsible or not?," said Eka.

The same thing was said by Bening (63). He was very annoyed with his neighbor who caused the fire.

"I'm really upset, bro. I already know our house is hiding. Not to mention there are asbestos, so it's everywhere, right," said Bening.

According to VOI monitoring at the location, dozens of residents lamented their fate for losing their only home, the only property they had.
