Stabilize Coalition With PDIP, PKB Optimistic Khofifah Will Not Fight Empty Boxes In East Java Gubernatorial Election

Chairman of the DPP National Awakening Party (PKB) Ahmad Iman Sukri said communication to form a coalition with PDIP in the East Java (East Java) gubernatorial election was getting more intensive.

Therefore, Iman is optimistic that the candidate pair for Governor-Deputy Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa-Emil Dardak will not fight an empty box without a competitor in the 2024 Pilkada.

"So far, we will nominate our own cadres together with the PDIP. The point is PKB is like that. Moreover, PKB and PDI-P, if they unite in East Java, they will definitely not be empty boxes," said Iman at the PKB DPP office, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 12.

In the 2024 East Java DPRD legislative election, PKB became the winning party by obtaining 27 seats. Meanwhile, PDIP is in second place with 21 seats.

If PKB and PDIP form a coalition, Iman believes that the cagub-cawagub pair who will be promoted can compete with Khofifah-Emil even though the incumbent in the East Java Pilkada has received recommendations for the inauguration of 7 political parties (political parties), namely Gerindra, Golkar, Democrats, PAN, PKS, PPP, and PSI.

"So far, the spirit is still, yes. The winning PKB there, 27 seats, can actually carry itself. PDIP is second place," said Iman.

So far, the candidates who will enter the PKB investigation market will be the former Chairman of the East Java PWNU Marzuki Mustamar. Then, PDIP narrowed the names of Social Minister Tri Rismaharini and Menpan RB Azwar Anas who are predicted to be carried in the East Java gubernatorial election.

Iman admitted that PKB and PDIP are still working on the potential for victory on these names, before officially announcing who the candidate pairs will be.

"Okay, okay, Mrs. Risma representing PDIP, Kiai Marzuki representing PKB. However, we will calculate how his strength will be. Because we are fighting the incumbent, of course we must have a selling value so that the fight can be won," he explained.
