Menparekraf Sandiaga Yakin Tourism Village In East Kalimantan Maju Because Of IKN

JAKARTA - Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated that his belief in a tourist village in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) could progress thanks to the existence of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

According to Sandiaga, during a visit to the Nipah-Nipah Village Tourism Village, North Penajam Paser Regency, in the context of the 2024 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI), IKN was able to bring in large-quality tourists.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy assessed the readiness of attractive destinations for Mentawir Village, Pampang Cultural Village, Bukit Bengkirai Botanical Gardens, and Tanah Merah Samboja Beach.

"We also ask the East Kalimantan Provincial Government to prepare around seven destinations, so that each visit can offer various variations," Sandiaga said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 12.

He also emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and community participation in advancing tourist villages in East Kalimantan.

"There must be limitations, but with mutual cooperation and community participation, I am very confident that tourist villages in East Kalimantan Province can advance," he said.

Menparekraf hopes that East Kalimantan and North Penajam Paser Regency can become the main parts of the New Indonesia and New Nusantara storefronts.

"Of the 6,016 tourist villages in Indonesia, we hope that East Kalimantan Province and North Penajam Paser Regency will become the main parts of the New Indonesia and Nusantara Baru storefronts," said Sandiaga.

Menparekraf juga mengapresiasi Kelurahan Nipah-Nipah yang berhasil masuk dalam 50 besar Desa Wisata Terbaik di Indonesia Tahun 2024. Pihaknya optimisticis untuk membangun ekowisata agar kunjungan tidak terputus.

He emphasized that tourists do not only come for activities, but also want to see sustainable and world-class tourism developments.

"Congratulations to Nipah-Nipah Village for entering the top 50 of the Best Tourism Villages in Indonesia in 2024," said Sandiaga.
