Public Prosecutor Calls 5 Corruption Convicts Procurement Of Corn Seeds Distanbun NTB To Help Enrich Others

The trial of the corruption case of the work recipient committee (PPHP) for the procurement of corn seeds at the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Agriculture and Plantation Service (Distanbun) for the 2017 Fiscal Year began to be held.

In the trial scheduled for reading this indictment, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) stated that the five defendants in this case helped enrich others.

"As a result of the actions of the defendants, there has been a state financial loss of Rp27.35 billion," said Sesarto representing the prosecutor's team reading out the indictments of the five defendants simultaneously before the panel of judges led by I Ketut Somanasa, Monday, August 12, which was confiscated by Antara.

The five defendants in this case who are the PPHO team are Ruslan Abubakar, I Komang Alit Yasa, Lalu Isnajaya, Muhammad Ilham El Muharrir, and Lalu Willi Pranegara.

As a result of the actions of the five defendants, the prosecutor charged them with primary and subsidiary charges related to Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

After hearing the indictment, the five defendants submitted to the panel of judges an exception request or response to the prosecutor's indictment.

The panel of judges then set a trial agenda for Monday, August 19 next week with the agenda of reading the charges of the five defendants.
