Golkar Party DPP: Airlangga Hartarto's Resignation Has Not Beenegimized

JAKARTA - The ranks of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Golkar Party in a press conference session held at the party's head office, Jakarta, Sunday night, confirmed Airlangga Hartarto's status after he announced his resignation as chairman.

Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Ahmad Doli Kurnia explained that Airlangga Hartarto de facto did resign as General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP, but in a de-register Airlangga's resignation still needed legitimacy or approval from the Golkar Party DPP in a plenary meeting.

"I want to emphasize that in a de jure manner, Mr. Airlangga Hartarto is still attached to his position as general chairman because his resignation will be legitimized by an institution called a plenary meeting," said Doli during a press conference.

Doli said that the Golkar Party DPP targeted the plenary meeting to take place on Tuesday (13/8).

"We plan no later than Tuesday, God willing, to accept and legitimize Pak Airlangga Hartarto's resignation letter as chairman," he said, quoted by Antara.

If later the DPP management receives Airlangga's resignation letter, according to him, automatically the official jureandde factodia will no longer serve as chairman of the party.

Doli is one of the central administrators of the Golkar Party who has been at Airlangga's official residence, Minister Widya Chandra's complex since Sunday morning.

Doli admitted to accompanying Airlangga before he finally announced his resignation as general chairman through video recordings broadcast by the Golkar Party during the day.

At the Golkar Party's head office after a press conference, Doli and the chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Ace Hasan Syadzily admitted that Airlangga's resignation news surprised them.

However, both of them ensure that the wheels of the organization continue because the party facturus is currently being carried out by 11 deputy party chairmen according to their respective fields.

The eleven deputy general chairmen include Adies Kadir, Bambang Soesatyo, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, Firman Soebagyo, Agus Gumiwang, Dito Ariotedjo, Nurdin Halid, Nurul Arifin, Kahar Muzakir, Melchias Marcus Mekeng, and Roem Kono.

In the same press conference, Doli, Ace, Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Adies Kadir, and Head of the Media and Opinion Raising Division of the Golkar Party DPP Meutya Hafidz also compactly asked all cadres to remain calm and maintain cohesiveness, as well as keep the situation conducive, especially during the 2024 Pilkada contestation.
