Plans To Revitalize 4 Temporary Location Points In Central Jakarta Make Traders Speculate As Quiet As Buyers

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government will repair four temporary locations (Loksem) for traders in Central Jakarta, one of which is in the Menteng area.

"Currently, it is still in the discussion stage to improve the arrangement of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) fostered by the Industry Sub-dept., Trade in Central Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives (PPKUM Sub-dept.)," said Central Jakarta Assistant for the Economy and Development, Bakwan Ferizan Ginting when confirmed, Friday, August 9.

Loksem location in the Menteng area, there are two points that will be arranged, namely Loksem Jalan Irian and Jalan Penataran. Meanwhile, the other two Loksems are located in the Cempaka Putih and Tanah Abang areas.

"Administratives to improve the beauty and attractiveness of buyers," he said.

Bakwan said that the empowerment of SMEs was also carried out to go to global cities.

"With the arrangement, the hope is that the turnover of traders will increase," he said.

Meanwhile, during field monitoring of the temporary location fi (Loxem) JP 44, Jalan Penataran, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, traders questioned the plan to repair the loksem. Even though it hasn't been 2 years, Loksem has just been revitalized.

Rohana, one of the JP traders, said that it has not been 2 years since the location of the JP 44 has been revitalized. In the revitalization by the Government, traders are completely involved.

"In the past we were completely involved. Now we have heard that there is a need for improvement. I think the improvement is good, but it is better for traders to be involved," he said.

After the revitalization, Rohana said, the number of buyers actually decreased. Currently, traders can only pocket IDR 15 thousand per day.

"In the past, from 07.00 WIB, I was open. But now, because it is quiet, it opens at 10.00 WIB," he said.
