BP Batam Ensures That The Rights Of Residents Affected By The Rempang Eco-City Project Are Realized

The Batam Free Port Free Trade Area Concession Agency ensures that the rights of residents affected by the development of Rempang Eco-City are fulfilled before investment in the area is realized. "We are trying to resolve the rights of the community before the investment of Rempang Eco-City is realized. In principle, BP Batam does not want the rights of residents to be neglected so that this project has the full support of all elements of society," said Head of the Batam Public Relations and Protocol Agency (BP), Ariastuty Sirait, in Batam, Antara, Thursday, August 8. BP Batam from the start was committed that every citizen who shifted would receive compensation in the form of living expenses of Rp 1.2 million per person. In addition, they also receive the same amount of house rental costs, namely Rp 1.2 per month. He said, to this day as many as 163 heads of families (KK) have shifted to temporary housing. Meanwhile, eight families from Blongkeng Village who were affected by the Rempang Eco-City Project chose to shift to temporary housing on Wednesday. According to Tuty, this step is a form of citizen support for the realization of the development of the Rempang Area as The New Engine of Indonesian's Economic Growth. Blongkeng Villager, Ahmat Zulimin, hopes that the project that is included in the national strategic program can run smoothly. "Hopefully the Rempang project can run smoothly," hoped Ahmat Zulimin. He also hopes that the Eco-City Rempang Project can provide jobs for the entire local community. Thus, the economy of the residents around the project can also increase with the presence of this development. "Thank you also to the government and BP Batam for helping shift against us. Hopefully the economy of the citizens can be more prosperous in the future," he said. Another resident named Kahar also hopes full of the presence of the Eco-City Rempang Project.

The man who has lived in Blongkeng Village for decades wants the local community's economy to increase significantly. "My family and I support the government so that this project can run. As a community, I want our children and grandchildren to live better lives in the future and get a decent job," he said.
