Densus 88 Anti-Terror Arrests Terrorists In Four Regions After Searching East Java

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror has arrested 27 suspected terrorists in four areas. Dozens of suspected terrorists belong to the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.

"From Jakarta, we all know that on March 19 (there were) 2 suspected terrorists arrested. Then, in West Sumatra there were 6 (suspected terrorists)", said Head of Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas), Police Public Relations Division, General Rusdi Hartono to reporters, Wednesday, March 24.

Furthermore, Densus 88 Anti-terror also arrested 18 suspected terrorists in North Sumatra. They were arrested at different locations.

"Then in North Sumatra, there are 14. Then it is still being developed and the latest information for North Sumatra to this day has secured another 4 terrorism suspects, so all in North Sumatra there are 18 (suspected terrorists)", said Rusdi.

The arrest of another suspected terrorist took place in Tangerang, to be precise at the Islamic Village. The suspected terrorist with the initials AM acts as a fundraiser.

"Yes, all of them are from the Jamaah Islamiyah network", said Rusdi.

Meanwhile, Densus 88 Anti-terror previously arrested 22 suspected terrorists. Dozens of suspected terrorists were arrested in East Java.

They have been taken to Jakarta to be placed in a special terrorist detention cell in Cikeas, Bogor.
