South Kalimantan HST Kejari Set 2 Corruption Suspects For Village Road Project Rp173 Million

HULU SUNGAI TENGAH - The District Attorney's Office of Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency (Kejari HST), South Kalimantan (Kalsel) has named two people as suspects for alleged corruption in the project to increase the capacity of the road structure connecting Layuh Village and Equipment Village for the 2021 fiscal year.

Head of the HST Prosecutor's Office, Yusup Darmaputra, said investigators raised the status of the previous witnesses as suspects with the initials HB and DN who are officials at the HST Regency PUPR Service.

"As a result of the suspect's actions, the state suffered a loss of around Rp. 173,766,483, this nominal is based on the calculation of state financial losses by experts," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.

Yusup said, for the law enforcement process against the alleged corruption crime, an investigation has been started since January 2023.

"The suspect was detained at the Barabai Class II Rutan for the next 20 days. The investigating prosecutor named two people as suspects based on sufficient evidence as stipulated in Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code," he said.

He revealed that until now, the HST Kejari had examined 20 witnesses.

The suspect with the initials HB is a Commitment Making Officer (PPK) who also serves as Acting Head of Highways Division of the HST PUPR Service, and suspect DN is the implementing director of the road structure capacity building project.
