JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense explained that as many as 15 TNI health workers who were sent to serve in a field hospital in Rafah, Gaza, would be rotated every month.

"The task period in Rafah is planned to be rotated every month for a maximum. This rotation is carried out with personnel at El Arish Hospital, Egypt," said Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General TNI Edwin Adrian Sumantha as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.

The Indonesian government this week will send 40 health workers, all of whom are TNI soldiers from three dimensions, gradually to hospital ships/hospitals floating in El Arish, Egypt, and field hospitals in Rafah, Gaza.

Of the 40 health workers, 25 of them are scheduled to fly from Jakarta to El Arish, Egypt, in the early hours of Friday (9/8). The group of health workers, consisting of specialist doctors, general practitioners, nurses, and midwives, will serve in a floating hospital controlled by the United Arab Emirates in El Arish, Egypt.

Then as many as 15 health workers from 25 people on duty in El Arishakan were sent to a field hospital in Rafah, Gaza, if the situation was deemed safe for the safety of Indonesian soldiers. The field hospital in Rafah is currently also under UAE control.

If the 15 health workers make it to Rafah, the Indonesian government will continue to send 15 other soldiers to serve at the floating hospital in El Arish.

El Arish in Sinai, Egypt, is the gathering point for aid from various countries in the world for the Palestinian people in Gaza. The distance from El Arish to Rafah is approximately 40 kilometers

A total of 40 TNI soldiers from the Air Force, Navy and Army are scheduled to serve in El Arish and Rafah for four months adjusting the situation in the destination area.

Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto provided briefing to the 40 health workers and greeted them one by one during a briefing at the Ministry of Defense.

During the event, the Director General of Defense Strategy at the Ministry of Defense Major General Ujang Darwis also submitted a report on the plan to send the health workers to Defense Minister Prabowo.

In his report, Ujang conveyed that health workers sent to El Arish and Rafah had attended a five-day pre-service exercise at the TNI Peace Maintenance Mission Center (PMPP) in Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Director General Strahan also directly inspected the UAE's floating hospital facility in El Arish last July.

"As a result of our review, the health facilities are very complete. Ada laundry is for free health workers and there is also a game and volleyball court for physical coaching for health workers," he said.

Ujang also said that the accommodation on the ship was also good and the food for health workers was prepared on the ship.
