Cak Imin Is Called 'Stealing' PKB, Gus Choi: If Gus Dur Says It's 100 Percent Truth

JAKARTA - Former PKB politician Effendi Choirie (Gus Choi) responded to the statement by the Secretary General of PBNU Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) who called the formation of the PKB deepening team or the PKB Special Committee to prove KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur)'stealed' by Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin).

The chairman of the PKB Extraordinary Congress Committee (MLB) in 2008 agreed with what Gus Dur said. According to Gus Choi, if Gus Dur said the truth was a shahih.

"Lho said it was not me, but Gus Dur. GusDur said yes, God willing, the truth is 100 percent," said Gus Choi at the PBNU building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 7.

Gus Choi emphasized that without Gus Dur, a political party called PKB would never exist. Because, he said, Gus Dur was the General Chair of PBNU who declared the establishment of PKB, based on the aspirations of NU residents.

"Well yes, sorry, yes, this is a PBNU decree and NU people who want to create a party, if Gus Dur does not agree, PKB does not exist," said the chairman of the first PKB faction in the DPR RI.

"This is a background. At that time, NU only ended around 84 to 98, it was still consolidating the end, once there was reform, this made the party or not, it was in doubt, but Gus Dur (says) okay, this is an aspiration, it's Gus Dur," said Gus Choi.

"So the conclusion without Gus Dur (PKB) does not exist. Therefore, when Gus Dur said that, the truth was 100 percent in my opinion," he concluded.

Previously, Gus Ipul said that the formation of the PKB deepening team or the PKB Special Committee formed by PBNU wanted to prove Gus Dur's statement that Cak Imin said PKB was'stealed'.

"Before his death (Gus Dur) said that the PKB was stolen. So we want to prove this is true or not it was stolen? Was it true? At that time, Gus Dur had not reported it, maybe. Haven't even reported it to the police. For example, what is it now? What is it? What is it? We will straighten it out," said Gus Ipul.
