Indo Barometer Survey: Yoyok Sukawi's Electability Defeats Mbak Ita And Dico Ganinduto

SEMARANG - The Indo Barometer survey institute showed the results of an electability survey in the 2024 Semarang City Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which placed Yoyok Sukawi above the incumbent and Kendal Regent Dico Ganinduto.

"'Awareness' of the highest voters against AS Sukawijaya (Yoyok Sukawi) is 16.5 percent, followed by Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu (Mayor of Semarang) 11 percent," said Indo Barometer Executive Director M Qodari as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 6.

This was conveyed in the FGD "Reading Political Maps Ahead of the 2024 Semarang Pilwakot Volume 3" held by the Semarang City Online Media Forum (FOMOS) in Semarang.

Following the two names, Secretary of the Semarang City Fire Department Ade Bhakti Ariawan (6.3 percent), Dico M. Ganinduto (2.8 percent), and Krisseptiana (wife of former Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi) at two percent.

Other names in the open simulation or "top of mind", he said, won less than 2 percent, while voters who stated they did not know or did not answer were 56.5 percent.

Meanwhile, in a closed survey with three candidate names, Yoyok Sukawi, who is also the boss of PSIS Semarang, achieved the highest electability of 50.3 percent.

After that, followed by Ita, Hevearita's nickname who is also an incumbent with 16.3 percent electability and Dico 13.0 percent.

"The main reason for the public choosing a candidate for mayor is because of experience, his performance is good or proven, close to the people or populers, only the names of these candidates are what I know and the people are good," he said.

The Indo Barometer survey was conducted from 18 to 23 July 2024 in 16 sub-districts in Semarang City, using the "multistage random sampling" method with face-to-face interviews.

"The number of samples in this survey is 400 respondents, with a margin of error of approximately 4.90 percent, at a 95 percent confidence level," said Qodari.

Meanwhile, a political observer from Diponegoro University, Semarang, Teguh Yuwono, said that the political map in the 2024 Semarang City Pilkada has changed since Ita as the Mayor of Semarang stumbled upon a case of alleged corruption.

"The influence is very large because the party will not carry out problematic people. When carried, of course, the 'public trust' (public trust) will definitely go down," he said.

According to him, the KPK's examination of Ita also had a major impact on the PDI-P because Ita was an incumbent candidate who previously had a great chance to win.

However, said the Dean of FISIP Undip, PDI Perjuangan must rethink who is the champion along with the legal case that ensnared his strong candidate.

"From the power, it may not have an effect, but if a figure has a very big influence. Because PDIP currently does not have a strong alternative candidate," said Teguh.
