Ukrainian Fighters Break Through Borders With Tanks, Russia Deploys Combat Planes To Reserve Military

JAKARTA - Russia said Ukraine carried out attacks on its southern border. It deployed reserve forces to help expel hundreds of tank-backed Ukrainian fighters.

Hours after the Russian regional governor said the attackers had been beaten back. Meanwhile, the defense ministry issued a statement saying fighting was still ongoing.

Troops guarding the country's borders, along with Russian FSB border forces (security agencies), fend off attacks and fire on enemies in the country's border area and reserves (Ukraine) in the Sumy region, "reported by Reuters, Tuesday, August 6.

Russia uses warplanes to attack Ukrainian armored vehicles. Russia also moved its reserve troops to combat areas.

Ukraine's general staff, in a routine update on Tuesday, reported Russian attacks on border villages but did not mention any of Ukraine's offensive operations on the border.

Russian territory near the border is often targeted by Ukrainian attacks during the war in Ukraine, as well as occasional attacks by Russia's anti-Kremlin volunteer groups at war on the Ukrainian side.

Moscow said as many as 300 Ukrainian fighters, backed by tanks, had taken part in the attack reported on Tuesday against Russia's border units in Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya, two settlements in Russia's Kursk region.
