JAKARTA - France's cybercrime police are investigating ransomware attacks against the Grand Palais exhibition space in Paris including the fencing venue and the Olympic Taekwondo.

As reported by Reuters on Tuesday, August 6, cybercriminals targeted the agency's central computer system, but the incident did not cause any disruption to the Olympic events taking place in the iconic glass-laden exhibition space in the center of the French capital.

French authorities say the computer system in the place also handles data for the 40 small museums affiliated with it.

Radio Franceinfo said the attackers demanded ransom payments within 48 hours, threatening to upload the financial data they got online if they did not receive an undetermined amount of money.
