The DPR MKD Did Not Find The Violations Made By Cak Imin In The Hajjwas Team

JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) responded to a report against the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), who is suspected of abusing power in the participation of his wife, Rustini Murtadho, in the 2024 House of Representatives' Hajj Supervisory Team. After conducting a series of administrative and legal verifications, Deputy Chairman of the MKD DPR RI, Nazaruddin Dek Gam said that his party did not find any violations committed by Muhaimin Iskandar. "The purpose of this verification is to ascertain whether there have been violations or unlawful acts committed by Cak Imin in the context of his wife's participation in the Hajjwas Team. Based on the results of verification carried out by the Secretary General of the DPR RI, MKD found that there were no violations committed by the DPR RI leadership," Nazaruddin told reporters, Tuesday, August 6. As is known, Cak Imin was reported to the MKD by the Chairman of the Indonesian Law Padepokan, Musyanto, who suspected that the leadership of the DPR RI in the field of Korkesra involved his wife in the DPR's Hajj Timwas entourage. Cak Imin allegedly used a visa for organizing Hajj that was not intended for the pilgrims for his wife, and used the state budget for personal and family interests. Musyanto stated that Cak Imin's actions were contrary to the DPR RI's code of ethics number 1 of 2015. Based on the report, the MKD of the DPR RI will immediately verify by contacting the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the DPR RI. This verification includes checking travel documents, issued permits, and regulations governing official travel abroad. The DPR MKD also refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia Number No.164/PMK.05/2015, especially Article 7 paragraph 7. This article states that in terms of the Implementation of SPD within the scope of the Ministry of State/Institutions participating in activities or attending events that require the participation of wives or husbands, they can be accompanied by their wives or husbands as other parties. Based on the regulation, Cak Imin's action which invited his wife to the DPR Hajj Team was legal and in accordance with applicable regulations. "So after conducting administrative verification with the Secretary General of the DPR RI, we did not find any violations committed by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI. In addition, in accordance with PMK Number 164 of 2015, it was proven that he did not violate these provisions," explained Nazaruddin Dek Gam. Nazaruddin added that this information also provides an understanding to the public that even though the DPR RI is currently in recess, where members' activities should be focused on electoral districts, the case involving the leadership of the DPR RI needs to be straightened out.

"We are committed to continuing to maintain integrity and transparency in carrying out our duties and supervisory functions, as well as ensuring that all actions of public officials are in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory provisions," he concluded.
