Banser Take Care Of The PBNU Office After Demonstration, GP Ansor: Ready To Move Carelessly

JAKARTA - A number of Banser members packed the courtyard of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Office on Jalan Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta this afternoon. They packed the front page of the PBNU Office. The General Chairperson of GP Ansor, Addin Jauharudin, emphasized that the deployment of Banser guard was carried out to anticipate the re-emergence of the PBNU counter-particial demonstration as happened a few days ago. "The banner is indeed a cadre, not a leader. Indeed, if the leader is educated, the Banser is a heavy force that is ready to be moved at any time, not a group," said Gus Addin when met at the location, Monday, August 5. Gus Addin admitted that his party instructed Banser to prevent further actions related to the PBNU problem with PKB. In addition, GP Ansor also coordinates to monitor developments in the field. With Banser's 24-hour guard, Gus Addin said the Banser would immediately push back the protesters who intend to surround the PBNU Office again. "So, we ask that first there be no more action in front of PBNU, whatever it is. If there is, we will immediately brush it, immediately beat it. But before that we took a persuasive approach," he said. Previously, a group of people on behalf of "Aliansi Santri Gus Dur" held a demonstration in front of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board building on Friday, August 2, 2024. In the action led by Muhammad Sholihin, the demonstrators demanded that the General Chairperson of PBNU KH Yahya Cholil Staquf and PBNU Secretary General H Saifullah Yusuf resign from his position, on the grounds that he was considered to have deviated from PBNU's big goal. Several posters were carried that read, "The chairman of PBNU and the Secretary General of PBNU must resign." This action is related to the disharmony conflict between PBNU and PKB which has been heating up in recent times. PBNU plans to form a team of five or a kind of PKB Special Committee because it assesses that the party led by Muhaimin Iskandar has deviated from the value of NU.

PBNU previously summoned former PKB Secretary General Lukman Edy to explore the problems that occurred. Today, PBNU again summoned the Secretary General of active PKB, Hasanuddin Wahid to the PBNU Office.
