Masses Hold Palestinian Defense Action In Front Of US Embassy

JAKARTA - The masses on behalf of the Indonesian People's Alliance to Defend Palestine (ARI-BP) held an International Solidarity Day Action for Gaza and Palestinian Prisoners in front of the United States Embassy, Jalan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta.

In their action, the masses held a supernatural prayer for the death of the leader of the Political Bureau of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh. They performed dhikr, prayed, sang together and orated to defend Palestine.

The masses also shouted for Israel to stop all forms of genocide against the Palestinian people.

ARI-BP Chief Executive KH Zaitun Rasmin said his party invited the public and the international community to be more concerned about Israeli-detained Gazans and Palestinians and to be more active inultimating Israel to release Palestinian prisoners.

"We also demand that the genocide against Gaza be stopped as well as the permanent opening of a blockade on the Gaza Strip," he said.

The mob also condemned the killings of Gaza's and Palestinian leaders by Israel, including the killing of former Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday (31/7).

Rasmin called on all OIC member countries to immediately send military aid to the Gaza Strip to save Gazans from the brutal killing of Israel.

In their action, the masses also unfurled the Pelestina flag and the giant Red and White flag, which was relayed to the action participants.

The crowd also carried Palestinian flag attributes, posters, fans, Haniyeh posters to white and black clothes.

The police deployed 1,309 joint personnel to secure the peaceful demonstration.

"To secure the action from the Indonesian People's Alliance to Defend Palestine and the Palestinian and Yemen Solidarity Committee (KOSPY), we involved 1,309 joint personnel," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro.
