Israelis Asked To Prepare For Shelter Amid Retaliation Threats, Basic Materials In Supermarkets Purchased

JAKARTA - Israelis were ordered to prepare shelters (shelters) amid increasing regional headway. The order comes after Hezbollah and Iran said they would retaliate against Israel

Israeli citizens are given guidance on what to do in the event of an attack on the country. Meanwhile, supermarkets reported a surge in sales of basic goods.

Israel's Victory supermarket chain said sales of some items rose 30 percent compared to regular day sales.

The city government of Jerusalem issued instructions to the public about what to do if the city is attacked by distributing documents containing a list of parking lots that will be used as shelters and a list of bomb shelters. It said residents should be able to reach the bomb shelter within 90 seconds.

"Residents are advised to clean and prepare their bomb shelters first," the document said.

Residents are also advised to provide enough water and food for three days and buy batteries and flashlights other than medicine.

Residents must prepare for a power outage that may last a few days. They must also be ready to stay in a bomb shelter for several days," the appeal continued.

Previously, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Iran's "task" to avenge the death of political leader Hamas Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. According to the New York Times, citing information provided by three Iranian officials, Khamenei issued an order for Iran to attack Israel directly after the assassination.

Israel does not justify or deny their role in Haniyeh's death.
