3 Fishermen Search For Fish Rolled With Cilacap Waters Waves, 1 Died

The joint SAR team managed to evacuate three fishermen who were victims of a fishing boat accident in the waters around PLTU Bunton, Cilacap Regency, Central Java (Central Java).

"Information about the marine accident that hit the fishing boat, we obtained it from Mr. Neno as the owner of a shrimp pond around the scene," said Head of the Cilacap Search and Rescue Office M Abdullah in Cilacap, Central Java, Friday, August 2, as reported by Antara.

Based on Neno's narrative, the fishing boat had an accident on Friday at around 04.00 WIB. The incident occurred when three fishermen who were on the boat were spreading nets west of the Bunton PLTU.

Because it was too far to the edge, the boat, which was known to have brought the three fishermen, was rolled over by the waves and eventually overturned.

The community around the scene of the incident who knew about the sea accident immediately contacted related parties to provide assistance, but to no avail, so the incident was reported to Basarnas.

Furthermore, Abdullah said that after receiving information about the marine accident, his party at 06.05 WIB dispatched a Basarnas team to search and rescue victims.

"At 06.40 WIB, the joint SAR team arrived at the location and conducted assessments and equipment preparation. The search method used for survivors (victims) is by sweeping the land or by beach and sweeping the water surface using a rubber boat," he said.

During the search, he said, the joint SAR team at 07.15 WIB managed to evacuate two victims, namely Hadi Siswanto (37), a resident of Kesugihan Kidul Village, Kesugihan District, Cilacap, who was found safe, and Utik (40), a resident of Jangrana Village, Kesugihan District, in a state of death.

After being evacuated to land, he continued, the two victims were immediately taken to the Adipala I Health Center for further treatment.

"Furthermore, while searching for the third survivors, the joint SAR team received information from fishermen that the victim of a marine accident on behalf of Riski Satria (20), a resident of Lengkong, Cilacap, was found safe at 08.00 WIB," he said.

According to him, Rizki was found by the crew of the Sinar Mentari Fisherman Ship in a floating position 2 nautical miles to the east from the scene and then the person concerned was taken to the Cilacap Indira Clinic for further treatment.

"With the discovery of the three victims of the marine accident, the SAR operation was declared closed and all elements involved were returned to their respective units," Abdullah said.
