Journalists' Helem Disappears In The Central Jakarta City Government Office, Police Say CCTV Is Inactive

JAKARTA - The helem theft took place in the courtyard of the Central Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) office. This time, Ridwan's helmet, an online media journalist who was placed on his motorbike, was stolen by a thief.

The victim only found out about the incident when he was about to use a motorbike after completing his coverage assignment at the Central Jakarta City Government office.

The victim was also disappointed to learn that the television circuit camera footage (CCTV) in the area was not active.

According to the victim, the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 30. When he was about to start the motorbike, it was discovered that his helmet was gone.

"When I wanted to go home, the sheet was gone," said the victim at the Gambir Police, Wednesday, July 31.

The victim then decided to make a report to the police at the Gambir Metro Police SPKT on Wednesday, July 31.

"I made a report at the Gambir Police Headquarters that the report was registered with the report number LP No. -316/K/VII/2024/Sek Gbr on July 31, 2024," he said.

After making a report at the Gambir Metro Police SPKT, members of the Gambir Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately checked the location.

However, from the results of these checks, it is known that CCTV around the location is not functioning. However, members of the Criminal Investigation Unit continue to collect information regarding the theft that occurred in the courtyard of the government agency.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gambir Metro Police, AKP Ganang Agung, said that after his party received the report, the officers immediately checked the location of the incident.

"We checked the location and it was discovered that CCTV in the area was not active," he said when confirmed.
