JAKARTA - Lebanese-based militant group Hezbollah said the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh would strengthen the determination of its fighters to confront Zionist enemies.

In a statement on Wednesday Hezbollah expressed his condolences for the martyrdom of the Head of the Hamas Political Bureau in Tehran, Iran.

"The martyrdom of Haniyeh's leadership will increase the determination and persistence of resistance fighters in all resistance arenas to continue the path of jihad (fight), and will strengthen their determination in the face of Zionist enemies, female and child killers, genocidal perpetrators in Gaza, and the seizure of Palestinian land and the disgrace of the nation," said Hezbollah, launching IRNA July 31.

The group added that Haniyeh was one of the great leaders of the resistance movement that stood up bravely against the American hegemony project and the Zionist occupation.
