Accusing The Hajj Special Committee For Attacking The Minister Of Religion, Deputy PKB Calls The Chairman Of PBNU Harassing The DPR Plenary Decision

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid, responded to the statement by the General Chairperson of PBNU, Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya who accused the formation of the Hajj Anggat Special Committee to personally attack the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.

Jazilul said that Gus Yahya had insulted the decision of the DPR Plenary Meeting. Because the approval of the Hajj Special Committee is carried out by all factions in the DPR, not only PKB.

"In my opinion, the accusation that insults the plenary decision of the right of inquiry," said Jazilul at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 30.

According to the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR, all parties should respect the DPR's plenary decision to form a Special Committee on Hajj Rights. Jazilul then challenged Gus Yahya to prove that the Hajj Special Committee was formed by the DPR to attack Minister of Religion Yaqut, who is also his younger brother.

"If it is not proven then it is a contempt of parliament, disturbing the performance of DPR members, who from the beginning were all based on stages, not only PKB, all political parties were decided which plenary were they?," he said. Previously, PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf considered the DPR's Hajj special committee to have a political nuance. Gus Yahya suspects that the Hajj budget committee is considered to be formed only intending to attack PBNU. Moreover, the Hajj budget committee appeared shortly when PBNU intended to return the PKB to NU.

"Regarding the special committee, yes, the Hajj Special Committee. Now that then raises questions to us about the Hajj Special Committee and then attacks NU, maybe this is a personal matter, maybe this is like that," said Gus Yahya according to the PBNU plenary meeting at the Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday, July 28. Gus Yahya suspects that there is a connection with his younger brother, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, who is also the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. However, the target is PBNU.

"Maybe it's because of my sister's minister, for example. That's a problem. Maybe it's because she's actually the one being targeted by the PBNU, the chairman generally happens to be me, the minister is my sister and then is targeted for personal reasons like this," he said. It is known that the Hajj Anggat Special Committee is currently rolling in the DPR RI. The special committee has been knocked at the DPR plenary meeting to conduct discussions.

The leadership of the DPR who knocked the special committee for Hajj tickets was indeed the General Chairperson of the PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin. Cak Imin is also the Chairman of the DPR's Hajj Supervisory Team. The DPR's Hajj Special Committee found indications of violations of the 2024 Hajj implementation. There are also allegations that lead to indications of corruption related to the addition of hajj quotas.
