Russian Interpol Fugitive Andrey Kovalenko Gets Deported From Bali

BADUNG - The Bali Immigration Service deported Russian Interpol fugitive Andrey Kovalenko or Andrew Ayer. Andrew had previously fled from the Class I Special Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai, in Badung Regency.

Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) Bali, Jamaruli Manihuruk, explained that the deportations were carried out today. Indonesian Immigration also banned Andrew.

"Andrew is subject to an immigration administrative action in the form of deportation accompanied by a proposal to prevent a Russian citizen", said Jamaruli during a press conference at the TPI Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office, Tuesday, March 23.

Deportation of the citizen from Russia was carried out at 13:10 p.m. local time, Tuesday, March 23. Andrew was initially flown to Soekarno-Hatta Airport and then deported to his home country, escorted by two members of the Russian NCB Interpol.

Previously, Andrew had escaped from the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center on February 11. After running away for a dozen days, Andrew was arrested by a joint team in Canggu, North Kuta on February 24.
