JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, announced the launch of the 2024 Anugerah Adinegoro, a highest award in the field of journalism in Indonesia. This award aims to appreciate the best journalistic works and maintain quality journalism standards in Indonesia.
"Adinegoro's award is our effort to maintain and promote the quality of journalism in Indonesia, especially in print media which are now unable to compete with social and online media," said Hendry Ch Bangun while chairing a preparation meeting at the Central PWI office, Monday, July 29. The launching event will take place at the Press Council Hall, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, on Thursday 1 August.
In the midst of the onslaught of digital media, many print media are struggling to survive. "A loyal journalist in print media deserves appreciation, and Anugerah Adinegoro is a stage for them," added Hendry Bangun.
The chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Artini Suparmo, explained that the 2024 Adinegoro Award will be held separately from the commemoration of National Press Day (HPN) to focus more on the spirit of Adinegoro. "We want to revive Adinegoro's spirit among young journalists and the wider community," said Artini.
This award is open to all journalists in Indonesia who have published their journalistic works in print media, online, videos, audio, and photos in the period January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. In addition to the five main categories, there will also be two special awards for campus press and social media.
Artini Suparmo stressed that the work included must meet the criteria "Investigation, Collaboration, and Innovation," which focuses on innovative and collaborative investigative journalistics.
