DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Wants To Strengthen Cooperation With The Seoul Metropolitan Government In The Tourism Sector

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government wants to strengthen synergy and cooperation with strategic partners, including with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, especially in the tourism sector in order to welcome status to become a global city.

"In the near future, Jakarta will face new challenges to become a global city. We want to strengthen synergy and cooperate with our strategic partners including the Seoul Metropolitan Government," said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono in Jakarta, Saturday, July 27, at the commemoration of the collaboration between the city of Jakarta and the city of Seoul, South Korea as twin cities (sister cities) who are 40 years old. Acting Governor, as reported by Antara, said that during the formation of sister cities, Jakarta and Seoul were actively coordinating and cooperating in various fields, ranging from tourism, culture, to education, and developing human resources.

Then, over the last four decades, the partnership that has been closely established is a form of commitment and hard work between the two cities in developing potential, especially in the fields of culture, economy, and urban development.

He also said that there are various challenges in fostering sister city relationships so that they remain harmonious and improve more serious relationships, so that they can continue to develop in various aspects.

This, he said, is a concern for Jakarta, which will continue to grow in realizing its dream as a global city.

Heru Budi hopes that in the future the sister city relationship between Jakarta and Seoul can consistently become a place to be born and grow new ideas and ideas, so that people from both cities will be more dynamic in facing the times. "Hopefully the 2024 Seoul-Jakarta Friendship Festival will become a forum for celebrating arts and cultural exchanges, creating new opportunities, and continuing to foster the friendship of the two cities in the coming years," he said. As a form of celebration, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the "2024 Seoul-Jakarta Friendship Festival" on 27-28 July 2024 at Korea 360 Main Atrium, Lotte Shopping Avenue, South Jakarta.

Heru Budi berpendapat kegiatan festival ini merupakan bentuk upaya nyata persahabatan antara Jakarta dan Seoul selama 40 tahun.Kegiatan "2024 Seoul-Jakarta Friendship Festival" dibuka oleh Direktur Divisi Kerja Sama Internasional Pemerintah Metropolitan Seoul Lee Kiwoong dan Kepala Bagian Kerja Sama Luar Negeri Biro Kerja Sama Daerah Sekretariat Daerah DKI Jakarta Enggar Ferry Sugiarto.Acara dimeriahkan penampilan musik dan tari dari Dinas Kebudayaan DKI Jakarta, penampilan VIDAN, grup musik asal Korea Selatan yang memperkenalkan beragam instrumen tradisional Korea dalam lagu-lagu mereka.
