KPK Arrests Fake Employees Blackmailing Bogor Regency Officials

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested a fake person extorting Bogor Regency officials today, Thursday, July 25. He claimed to be an employee when carrying out his action.

"We have arrested someone who claims to be an employee of the corruption eradication commission," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 25.

Tessa detailed that this fake actor had the initials YS. The arrest began with a report from an extorted official.

"There is someone who was later discovered to have the initials YS who claimed to be a KPK employee. Where the person concerned extorted the reporter," he said.

"The reporter said that he was asked for some money by the person in question in this case YS," continued Tessa.

Receiving this report, the KPK sent a team consisting of investigators and the Inspectorate. The goal is to ensure whether or not the employee status of the person is correct.

"After the person was found to have received money from the reporting party, the team secured the person in question at the Mang Kabayan restaurant, Bogor Regency at around 13.30 WIB," he said.

From there, the team took him to the KPK's Red and White Building.

"From the results of the temporary clarification that is currently still ongoing, it is concluded that the person has a temporary conclusion that this person is not an employee of the KPK and only operates alone," said Tessa.

Furthermore, investigators found Rp300 million in cash, an iPhone cellphone, and a white Porsche car with police number B 1556 XD.

"Furthermore, the person concerned along with the goods and vehicle money, when the clarification activity has been completed, the KPK will hand over it to the police, in this case the Bogor Police," he concluded.
