"I and Mrs. Iriana invite all Indonesian people to love kebaya as part of our culture," Jokowi wrote in a photo caption uploaded to his Instagram account @jokowi on Wednesday, July 24.
Based on the photo's information, the President explained that various types of kebaya from Indonesia would be nominated for UNESCO along with four other ASEAN countries.
The kebayas ranged from the Labuh kebaya from Sumatra, the New Kutuk kebaya from Java, the Noni kebaya from North Sulawesi, the Nona kebaya from East Maluku and Papua, to the Kerangkan kebaya.
"On this National Kebaya Day, let's preserve the kebaya so that our culture remains alive and not extinct," said the President.
