KPK Searches Several Locations Related To The President's Bansos Corruption Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search related to the alleged corruption of the president's social assistance (bansos) today. Forced efforts were carried out in the Greater Jakarta area.

"That today there is an investigation in the Banpres social assistance case in Jabodetabek," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 23.

Tessa has not detailed the location of the search. "We can't tell you yet because the activity is still ongoing," he said.

"But later if there are results from the investigators, we will update again what was done or what items were confiscated," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Previously reported, the KPK revealed that it was investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of presidential social assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic which was distributed in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) in 2020. There are already suspects named, namely Ivo Wongkaren who is the President Director of Mitra Energi Persada.

The actions of the suspect in this case, called the anti-corruption commission, made the state lose up to Rp250 billion. This figure can still increase because the calculation is still being carried out.

The procurement that was corrupted was said to have reached 6 million packages of anti-corruption commission. This figure is divided into three stages, namely, stages three, five, and six, the other reaching two million packages.
