Officers Successfully Put Out The Mount Jaaz Trenggalek Forest Fire

TRENGGALEK - Officers managed to extinguish a two-hectare production forest fire on the slopes of Mount Jaaz, Kelurahan, Trenggalek Regency, East Java.

"The fire was reported to have occurred on Sunday (21/7) afternoon at around 18.00 WIB until evening, and it has now been extinguished," said Chief Executive of BPBD Trenggalek, Winai Atmono, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 22.

He explained that there were no casualties in the incident. However, the vegetation of teak and acacia types and shrubs under it was reported to be badly damaged.

The location of the fire is in the forest owned by Perhutani plots of 76 C with a raw area of 11.7 hectares with a type of forest-class tree plant.

"TJKL coordinates 8.0503S 111, 6996 E enter the Trenggalek BKPH Trenggalek KPH Kdiri RPH in the administrative area of Ngantru Village, Trenggalek District," he added.

The fire was first reported by the public. They said that local residents saw the fire and reported it to the officers.

Joint officers went straight to the location to extinguish the fire.

"We extinguish the fire in a happy and ilaran way," he added.

The fire damaged plants such as teak, acacia to shrubs.

It is known that the fire originated from a tax land which then spread to Perhutani land.

The public is advised to be aware of all activities that have the potential to trigger forest fires.

"Especially in the dry season like today. We urge the public to always be careful and alert to all activities that have the potential to trigger fires," he said.
