Fadli Zon Responds Positively To The International Court's Decision, Asks Israel To Leave The Palestinian Territory

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) of the DPR RI gave a positive response to the International Court of Justice/ICJ) ruling Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories for decades is illegal and must be terminated as quickly as possible. Furthermore, the ICJ ordered Israel to immediately leave the Palestinian territory because its existence violated international law. Regarding the ICJ's steps, Fadli Zon, Chairman of the House of Representatives Inter-Parliament Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) of the DPR RI, gave a positive response. "The ICJ decision is certainly very historic and really brave. It deserves to be fully appreciated and fully supported by any country that loves independence and anti-colonialism," said Fadli asserted. Furthermore, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR for the 2014-2019 period urged the concrete implementation of the consequences of the ICJ's decision law. "Israel must be urged out of the Palestinian territories and the UN General Assembly (SIUM PB) must be held immediately in response to the ICJ's decision," he said. Fadli Zon, who is also the Deputy Chairperson of DPP Gerindra, stated that, first, the international community must force Israel to immediately lift away from occupied Palestinian territories including withdrawing from the Gaza Strip, and second, restoring Palestinian territories according to the 1967 border.
