JAKARTA - Three pro-Russian hackers have been arrested on suspicion of cyberattacks against Spain and other NATO countries for terrorist purposes.

The suspects were detained on suspicion of their involvement in cyber attacks against service rejection (DDoS) distributed to public institutions and strategic sectors, the Civil Guard said.

However, it did not say whether the three suspects, who had not been named, had been charged or detained.

The cyberattack was allegedly carried out on the web pages of public and private organizations in the government sector, critical infrastructure, and essential services in countries supporting Ukraine in conflict with Russia.

Police released a video on social media platform X about a raid on the house of one of the suspects who put the Soviet-era sickle flag on the wall.

This computer attack was organized by the hacktivist group No Name057(16), (which began) after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia and (which) was one of the most active, the Civil Guard said in a statement reported by Reuters on Saturday, July 20.

"In their manifesto, these groups admit that they will respond proportionally in response to hostile and anti-Russian Western Russophobes' actions publicly," he added.
