Unbranded White Pills Are The Cause Of The 'Vocational Economy' In South Kalimantan

JAKARTA - Consultant Consultant for Addiction at the Sambang Lihum Mental Hospital, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, dr. Firdaus Yamani, Sp.KJ(K), stated that the white pill did not have a branding became the cause of dozens of people in South Kalimantan experiencing a "drunky".

Firdaus stated that it was initially suspected that the patient was admitted to a mental hospital because he consumed a tube.

"However, after an interview was conducted on patients who had improved their condition, they answered that they took white pills without a brand," said Firdaus, who is also a member of the Indonesian Mental Health Specialist Association (PDSKJI), as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 19. The unbranded white pill, which is being investigated and traced by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the police, is suspected to contain an extract of kecubung fruit.

The findings that have only been known to date are that the pill is included in the type of pilcarnophenyangan containing paracetamol, carisoprodol, and caffeine. The three ingredients are thought to produce side effects similar to warehousing fruit. Farirdaus said that based on the regulations of the Ministry of Health, the pillcarnophen included narcotics class I and was illegal.

Firdaus also stated that the condition of the patients being treated is currently getting better. Now only one or two people are still being treated at the hospital.

However, learning from the previous case, Firdaus asked the public not to ever try to consume kecubung fruit, let alone combine it with illegal drugs to avoid side effects that endanger the soul. The effects of tube fruit include hallucinations, respiratory failure, sudden increase in blood pressure to death.

"This must be a concern for us together, although it is only suspected that there are indications of convexity (in this case), however, this (fruit) is dangerous because it causes hallucinations so it needs collaboration with various parties to educate the public to stay away from consuming this plant," said Firdaus.
