JAKARTA - Britain added 11 new shipping sanctions against Russia related to the war in Ukraine.

The government said sanctions against ships including Zaliv Amurskiy and SCF Pechora were related to transporting oil or oil products from Russia to third countries.

The ships are believed to have Panamanian, Gabon and Cook Islands flags.

Britain is targeting ships on Russian President Vladimir Putin's "shadow" which is said to have been used to circumvent Western sanctions against Russian oil trade.

In June, Ingosstrah, which provided services to Russian oil exporters including ship insurance protection, was added to the list of Russian entities appointed by the British government's sanction enforcement agency, OFSI.

The company said it could oppose the sanctions.
