The Body Of A Baby Woman Floating In A Water Channel, Allegedly A Abortion Victim In The Bidara Cina Jatinegara Flat

JAKARTA - The body of a female baby was found floating on the surface of the sewer for the Chinese Bidara Flats, RT 07/08, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, Sunday, July 14, afternoon.

The incident caused a commotion among residents around the flats. Quickly, a number of residents immediately gathered around the body of the poor baby to see and confirm the whereabouts of the body.

The discovery of the corpse was first discovered by Novi (30), one of the eyewitnesses and local residents. At first he was sitting around the location where the baby's body was found.

Then Novi saw that there was a suspicious object floating in the sewer for the household waste from the flat.

"At first I thought it was a chicken (bangkai), when I saw tegesin it turned out that there was a leg (baby leg). When I was approached it turned out to be the corpse of a baby girl, there was still an ari," Novi told reporters at the scene, Sunday, July 14, afternoon.

After seeing the baby's body, Novi looked for help and screamed. Residents who heard then went to the source of the sound of the screams.

"There is a baby.. there is a baby," he said.

Then by local residents, the discovery was reported to the Jatinegara Police. Furthermore, the discovery of the baby's body was forwarded to the East Jakarta Metro Police.

The East Jakarta Metro Police Identification Team was also dispatched to the scene to identify the bodies.

The baby's body is suspected to be a victim of an abortion that was allegedly carried out in the Bidara Cina Flat area, Jatinegara.

Joint officers from the East Jakarta Metro Police and the Jatinegara Police also installed a yellow police line at the scene.

In addition to the baby's body, the police also found used condoms in the water channel. The baby's body is thought to have come out through a household sewer pipe from one of the rooms of Bidara Cina Flat, Jatinegara.

For further processing, the baby girl's body was then evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta. Meanwhile, the case was handled by a joint team from the East Jakarta Metro Police and the Jatinegara Police.
