A woman with the initials NWS (48) was arrested by the Bali High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) team and the Tabanan District Attorney's Office (Kejari) in a corruption case, in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
NWS is a suspect in the management of the Mandiri Rural National Community Empowerment Program (PNPM) and/or the Trust Fund for the Empowerment of the Asset Lestari Community, in Kediri District, Tabanan Regency, for the 2017 fiscal year until 2020.
"What is certain is that the state losses obtained by the Tabanan inspectorate are around Rp. 5.5 billion and those that were saved were Rp. 3.1 billion," said Head of the Tabanan Kejari, Zainur Arifin Syah, Wednesday, July 10.
The suspect NWS was previously summoned up to 3 times and finally on May 22, 2024. But he did not answer the call.
Kejari Tabanan pun meminta bantuan ke Kejati Bali untuk dilakukan penangkapan. Tersangka ditangkap pada Selasa (9/7) dibantu oleh tim Kejati NTB.
The suspect is known to have changed his identity by creating a new ID card and a new name. The suspect also removed the mole so that it could not be recognized by the officer.
Previously, the suspect was domiciled in Tabanan and had a Bali ID card.
"Incidentally (in Mataram) he had his family's house. When we arrested him, the suspect had changed his name, his identity card had changed, his place of birth changed from the State (in Jembrana) to Mataram. Then the birth certificate on the face as well as the mole was missing and was recognized frankly by the suspect," he said.
"In Mataram, he was examined as a suspect yesterday. So we called three times not coming, we tried to force him, then we only named him as a suspect yesterday when we checked in Mataram," he continued.
