Prosecutors Submit Agus Bentung Case Files To Mataram Court

The public prosecutor at the Mataram District Attorney's Office, West Nusa Tenggara, handed over a sexual harassment case file with a suspect with the initials IWAS alias Agus Bentung to the Mataram District Court.

Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, confirmed the delegation of the case that took place today.

"The case has been transferred by the public prosecutor to the Mataram District Court today after the Friday prayers," said Efrien as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 10.

For the determination of the agenda for the trial and the panel of judges who will hear Agus' case, he said he was still waiting for a decision from the court.

"For the trial, we are still waiting for a schedule from the Mataram District Court," he said.

Due to the delegation of cases to the Mataram District Court, Efrien confirmed that his party had informed the IWAS suspect who is currently undergoing detention at the Class II A Prison in West Lombok.

"We have submitted the notification of the delegation and submission of the indictment to the suspect in West Lombok Prison," he said.

The suspect IWAS was detained at the Class II A Prison in West Lombok after the public prosecutor received the delegation of suspects and evidence from police investigators on Thursday (9/1).

The delegation of suspects and evidence is a follow-up to the results of the prosecutor's research which states that the case file for the suspect IWAS is complete and fulfills the criminal element in Article 6 letter A and/or letter C in conjunction with Article 15 paragraph (1) letter E of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence.
