Addie MS Hopes New Jakarta Leaders Can Realize Quality Show Buildings

JAKARTA - Addie MS welcomed the inauguration of Pramono Anung and Rano Karno as Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta. The 65-year-old musician hopes that the new Jakarta leadership will be able to have a good impact on the development of art in the former capital city of this country.

"Yes, as citizens, they are very happy that they have been determined. Of course, I have a lot of hope for them," said Addie MS at SCBD, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 9.

"I hope they can issue breakthroughs for the citizens of Jakarta so that they can live a happier and better life," he continued.

As is known, Addie MS on several occasions voiced that the government would build quality performance buildings in Jakarta.

With the presence of Rano Karno as Deputy Governor, who previously grew up in the art world, Addie hopes that the quality performance building in Jakarta can be realized.

"I hope that the show or concern hall building that I hope for. Indonesia, the government from ancient times until now has never built a concern hall. Fortunately, there are private sectors in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta," said Addie MS.

"Well, hopefully this will be the attention of the new governor. If it is not possible to build the infrastructure, at least pay more attention to the life of our cultural arts, our performing arts," he added.

In addition, Addie also expressed hope that the new leadership of Jakarta would be able to solve the problem of air pollution.

"The air pollution in Jakarta is severe. Now, at the end of the year and the beginning of this year, things are usually better every year, the air is better, but later towards the middle, mid-year, it's even worse, crazy and it keeps repeating itself," he explained.

"It's not easy, but there must be hard work for them as regional leaders," he concluded.
