The Prosecutor's Office Names 3 Corruption Suspects For Road Projects In Konawe Selatan, Central Sulawesi

The Prosecutor's Office has named three suspects in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the road for the penetration of the Wheel Settlement Unit, Kolono District, South Konawe Regency (Konsel), Southeast Sulawesi (Sulteng).

They are the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) with the initials SA, the Director of CV Darma Abadi initials G, and the executor of the initials LJ. The three of them are suspected of corruption in a road project that has drained a budget of IDR 1.1 trillion from the 2022 APBN.

"The activities are attached to the Transmigration and Manpower Office of South Konawe Regency," said Head of the South Sumatra District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Ujang Sutisna said, in Andoolo, Konsel, Central Sulawesi, Wednesday, July 10, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said, based on the results of the Southeast Sulawesi Inspectorate audit, it was found that state losses amounted to Rp280 million. However, as much as Rp42 million has been returned by the suspects to the state treasury.

"So, the state loss is Rp. 237 million," he said.

Ujang revealed that in determining the three suspects, his party was very careful and when they met the requirements, they were immediately named as suspects in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP).

"In the process of investigating the case starting from January 2024 until the investigation stage, 22 witnesses and two experts have been examined. Investigators do not carry out hasty investigations but with full caution," he said.

He explained that currently the three suspects were detained at the Kendari Detention Center (Rutan) for the next 20 days.

"After investigators have confidence that there is a criminal act and two sufficient pieces of evidence, as well as legal subjects who must be held accountable for the criminal incident, we have named the three as suspects," he said.

According to him, the three suspects were subject to Article 2 and Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption, with a minimum penalty of five years and a maximum of 15 years in prison.
