Rossa Purbo Reported Again To The KPK Council, Alexander Marwata: We Wait For Clarification

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata casually responded to the reporting of his investigator, Rossa Purbo Bekti, which was carried out by the PDI-P (PDIP) camp to the KPK Supervisory Board. Whoever he says can do it if he feels his rights are violated.

This was conveyed by Alexander in response to Rossa who was reported again while looking for Harun Masiku's whereabouts. The PDIP camp accused him of intimidating Donny Istiqomah, who is a PDI-P cadre (PDIP) during a search on July 3.

"If anyone reports it, they can report it," Alexander told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 9.

"If you feel that your rights have been violated or the procedure or process of carrying out work at the KPK by our staff is considered unprofessional, for example, right, please report it," he continued.

Alexander then said the KPK Supervisory Board would also work according to the rules. In fact, he is waiting for Rossa's clarification to be carried out so that the investigator's job in the Harun Masiku case can be judged directly.

"For example, when conducting an examination, how about during the search and so on, the council will see it. So please report it and we'll just wait for the conclusion," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of Investigation of the KPK, Asep Guntur, said that investigators did not just attempt to force a search or confiscation. This process is confirmed to have complied with the laws and regulations.

"So every activity carried out by investigators is in the context of an investigation process, in this case making efforts to force the summons, arrests, searches, confiscation and detention, dismissing someone and others in order to carry out the law. So there is no desire for it yourself," he said at the same location.

As previously reported, Rossa Purbo Bekti, who is a KPK investigator, was reported to the KPK Supervisory Board. He is suspected of intimidating Donny Istiqomah, who is a PDI-P cadre (PDIP) during a search on July 3.

"In the investigation that continued during the four-hour search, it was unfortunate how Rossa's brother intimidated Donny's brother," said PDIP Legal Team Johannes Tobing to reporters at the KPK Supervisory Board Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta.

"Well, the intimidation, the examination was carried out in front of his children and wife (Donny, ed). You can imagine all of my friends are six years old, the other is still a nine-month-old baby," he continued.

Not only that, during the search it was also claimed that there was a threat. "So this is what makes from a human point of view what traumatized his children, Donny's brother," said Johannes.

This lawyer also accused Rossa of legal gratification who came with 16 other investigators. He said that his client had been persuaded by investigators when the forced attempt was made.

"It was forced by Donny's brother, Donny's brother, just confessed. He said, like this, 'Pak Donny just admitted, to be honest, tell me what is related to the Harun Masiku case'," he said.

"Well, then Donny said, 'what do I want to be honest about, sir, this has all been stated in the news on how to examine when I was at the KPK, I was brought to court, I was examined, I have been given evidence and witnesses, all my statements are like that.," said Johannes telling his client's answer.
