Karawang Regency Government Makes Lanang Temple And Ki Bagus Jabin Cultural Conservation Cemetery

JABAR - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Karawang in West Java (West Java) has designated Lanang Temple, Ki Bagus Jabin Tomb, and Megalithic Site as cultural heritage.

Head of the Cultural Heritage Expert Team of the Karawang Obar Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar), Subbarja, said this step was to preserve the nation's cultural heritage and human heritage.

"The process of determining this cultural site through various stages," he said in Karawang, Tuesday, July 9, was confiscated by Antara.

Among the stages carried out, he said, starting with pre-trials, collecting documents, and a trial for determining cultural sites.

He conveyed that various parties were involved in the process of determining the three locations as cultural heritages, including archaeologists, historians, literature, academics, community leaders to village heads, and sub-district heads.

"All parties participated in the trial. After the trial was determined, it was then determined through the Karawang Regent's decree," he said.

He said the three points designated as cultural heritage were Lanang Temple located in Cibuaya District, Ki Bagus Jabin Night in Cikampek District, and Megalithic Site Makom Anom Wirasuta located in Tegal Waru District.

It was stated that the determination of the three cultural heritage locations was determined through the Decree of the Regent of Karawang Aep Syaepuloh dated June 24, 2024.

According to Obar, the Megalithic Site of Makom Anom Wirasuta located in Bojongmangu Hamlet, Cintawargi Village, Tegalwaru District, Karawang, contained a pile of stones arranged and suspected to be a place for Karawang residents to move during the megalithic era about 10,000 years ago.

At that location there were also traces of Raden Anom Wirasuta's grave, the former Regent of Karawang whose graves were moved to the Karawang Regent's Tomb Complex in Manggungjaya Village, Cilamaya Kulon District, Karawang. "There are also springs that never dry despite the long dryness," he said.

Lanang Temple is located in the Cibuaya Site area located in Pejaten Hamlet, Cibuaya Village, Cibuaya District, Karawang. Meanwhile, Ki Bagus Jabin's tomb is the grave of a figure who spreads Islam in Karawang.
