JAKARTA - Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Jordan sent food aid by air to the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

Citing the Saudi Arabian news agency SPA via Antara, Saturday evening, July 6, Royal Palace Advisor and General Supervisor of King Salman's Humanitarian Aid Center (KSrelief) Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah said this action was carried out regarding the Israeli military prohibiting the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The aid delivery involved the Jordanian Hasemite Kingdom Charity Organization (JHCO) and the Jordanian Hasemite Kingdom Armed Forces.

Saudi Arabia provides Jordan with parachutes and related networks to deploy 30 tons of aid in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The food aid deployed can be consumed directly without the need for cooking.

Al Rabeeah emphasized the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip and assisting Palestinians in any way possible on the orders of the guards of the two holy mosques of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince as well as the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The delivery of food aid can overcome the problem of closing land and sea borders that stop sending aid.

Al Rabeeah also urged the opening of borders to facilitate the delivery of basic humanitarian needs to war victims.

He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also collected donations on the orders of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Muhammad bin Salman to help the helpless Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. To date, the donation has reached 184 million US dollars (around Rp. 3.0 trillion).

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also operates 54 aircraft and eight ships of sea transportation.

Al Rabeeah expressed his appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the assistance in line with international support and ease the burden on the Palestinian people.
