Young Cadres Of The Party Respect Nazi, Italian PM Affirms There Is No Space For Fascism

JAKARTA - Italian Prime Minister (PM) Giorgia Meloni emphasized that there is no room for fascism following the emergence of a video containing young cadres of his party with respect to the Nazi style while shouting "Sieg Live".

Meloni stressed that members of the Italian national conservative party who idolize the past of Italian fascism will be sanctioned for dismissal.

"There is also no room in the Brothers of Italy for racism or antisemitism, nor is there room for those missing the 20th century totalitarian regime or for manifestation of any stupid folklore," he said in a statement addressed to the leader of Italy's national conservative party., quoted from NBC News, Wednesday 3 July.

"Our job is too heavy if they don't understand the scope and are left to damage it," he continued.

Brothers of Italy are rooted in neo-fascist groups formed after World War II.

In recent years, Meloni has been known to be trying to distance himself from right-wing groups and insists his party is a mainstream conservative party.

The viral video is being investigated by Italian online media, Fanpage. Tutut and in the investigation are opposition parties.

The opposition said that the Brothers of Italy are a place of protection for extreme right-wing groups. They also accused Meloni of trying to present a moderate image both at home and abroad regarding the group allegedly affiliated with the Italian PM.
