PDIP Proposes Andika Perkasa's Name, Cak Imin Says Anies Baswedan Is Still The Strongest Candidate

JAKARTA - PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) admitted that his party had communicated regarding the Jakarta Pilkada and the 2024 East Java Pilkada with PDIP DPP Chairman Said Abdullah.

Communication also includes the PDIP issue of proposing the name of the former TNI commander General Andika Perkasa as a candidate for governor (cagub) Jakarta.

However, Cak Imin said, there was no agreement between PKB and PDIP to carry the same cagub, both in Jakarta and East Java. He said the two parties were still matching the survey results and the potential for winning candidates in each region.

Including the question of the name Andika Perkasa, Cak Imin said that the name of General AM Hendropriyono's son-in-law is still being discussed. So far, said Cak Imin, the name of former governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan is still the strongest as a cagub.

"There is still no discussion (Andika's agreement, ed), there are still several alternatives. (Anies) Yes, it is still the strongest," said Cak Imin, Monday, July 1.

Cak Imin said, PKB is also still considering the discourse of the third axis, both carrying Anies and other figures. For the time being, PKB still sees a suitable name as deputy governor accompanying Anies.

"We are waiting for the installation process, if the DKI PKB asks Anies, of course we will consider more, but we are still checking about representatives," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR.

"Until today, we are still strengthening who Anies' partner is," added Cak Imin.
